Reach Electronic Energy Management Services (REEMS) was an eTEN project which aimed at offering an ICT ser­vice in energy management and energy counselling on the Internet for pro­fessionals, SMEs and private households. REEMS services pro­motes rational use of energy (RUE) and intro­duc­tion of renewable ener­gy sources (RES) both important national and EC environment objectives.

 

REEMS was market validated for use in Sweden by Energikontoret Halland Ek för (REACH), Falkenberg, Sweden. The energy agencies Furness Energy Partnership (FEP), Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, UK, and Agenzia per l’Energia e lo Sviluppo Sostenibile (AESS), Modena, Italy, validated the services in the UK and Italy. The con­tractor Weizer Energie- Innovations- Zentrum GmbH (WEIZ), Weiz, Austria, validated the service in the local energy agencies in Styria, Austria.

 

Work with the REEMS included delivering a common prototype for Sweden, UK, Italy and Austria. PLABs role in the project was to produce a business plan and to test the ICT prototype.

 

REEMS was successfully finished in 2003.
